Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP)

The Public Procurement Act 2007 established the Bureau of Public Procurement as the regulatory authority responsible for the monitoring and oversight of public procurement, harmonizing the existing government policies and practices by regulating, setting standards and developing the legal framework and professional capacity for public procurement in Nigeria.

The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) provides a registration database system known as the Contractor and Service Provider Database System for all federal government contractors, consultants, and service providers.

For registration, the following needs to be provided:

  1. Company’s contact information.
  2. The registration details of the company.
  3. The tax compliance information of the company.
  4. An Employee Pension Compliance information e.g. a National Pension Commission (Pencom) compliance certificate. Note: if the company has less than three employees, you don’t need this document.
  5. An Industrial Training Fund Certificate. Note: if the company has less than five employees, you do not need this document.
  6. The business category information.
  7. Professional Body Regulatory Information. Note: this is only for service-providing companies only.
  8. Manufacturer Representation Information. Note: this is also only for good-providing companies only.
  9. Business classification information.
  10. Information regarding the key personnel in the company.

 

Procedure:

  • Provide basic information which include; Company name, Company address and email address.
  • An email will be sent to the company email address provided. A temporary contractor-id and password will be sent.
  • The temporary contractor-id and password will be used to log into the portal.
  • The above requirements will then be provided.
  • After completion, the application should be submitted.

To renew the IRR, individuals are expected to login to the BPP Contractor Database (federalcontractors.bpp.gov.ng) or through the link ”Contractor Registration” on the BPP website (www.bpp.gov.ng) with your login details (Temporary Contractor ID and Password). After login, click on the button ”Generate Interim Registration Report” and follow the procedure for the generation and printing of the current, valid IRR.
